Dr. Pepper Cake

This is a very good cake, it is also very moist and stays that way for several days. Here's the recipe.

Dr. Pepper Cake

- 1 cup butter or margarine (butter is better)
- 1 cup Dr. Pepper
- 2 cups unsifted all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 pinch salt
- 4 Tbsp cocoa
- 2 beaten eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 1/2 cup miniature marshmallows

Dr. Pepper Frosting

- 1/2 cup Dr. Pepper
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 3 Tbsp cocoa
- 3 cup powered sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- 1 tsp vanilla

DR. PEPPER CAKE DIRECTIONS
Melt butter, add Dr. Pepper and mix together well. Mix all dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Add eggs, buttermilk, vanilla, and marshmallows together. The pour the Dr. Pepper butter mixture over the rest of the ingerdients in the bowl, mix them together well. Pour batter into a greased 9x12 pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-35 minutes.

DR. PEPPER FROSTING DIRECTIONS
Heat Dr. Pepper, cocoa, butter or margarine, but don't bring to a hard boil, then remove from heat. Stir in the rest of the ingredients and mix together well. Spread the Dr. Pepper frosting over the cake while still hot. Let cake cool after frosting and then serve.
